Whether you’re new to caravanning or just want to catch up on the very latest caravan news and gossip, there’s some great monthly caravan magazine reading out there for our touring caravan insurance customers. Here’s our unique round-up of what you can expect to see:
Practical Caravan magazine
By a considerable margin, Britain’s caravanners’ most popular monthly read. Practical Caravan also claims the “best newsstand presence”, meaning you’ve got more chance of finding a copy in a newsagents near you.
Editor Nigel Donnelly is not only a prolific writer, he’s an incredibly active caravavanner, in 2011 adding Croatia to a long list of countries he’s toured through. He describes his magazine as “straightforward, down-to-earth and friendly”, adding: “It’s the ultimate guide to caravanning, offering inspirational holiday ideas, in-depth product tests and the best DIY advice. It’s all our readers need to get the most out of their tourer.”
Caravan magazine is the UK’s longest-established consumer magazine for caravanners. Now with a new team on-board, including managing editor, John Sootheran, who says: “The Caravan brand is gradually evolving to make it more accessible, useful, entertaining and better value for money.
“We don’t want to alienate any current readers, but we believe we can offer a lot more value across a greater range of subjects, making the magazine a more compelling and engaging proposition for a wider range of readers.”
Caravan magazine features touring, tests and towcars, plus lots of practical advice, Q&As and reader interaction.
“There are lots of surprises to come.” adds John. “We hope to have as much fun with the magazine as our readers do with their caravans.”
Go Caravan represents a brave attempt to take a fresh look at the caravanning lifestyle. “At launch, we really stirred things up,” reckons editor Sally Pepper. “Before Go Caravan arrived the market was filled with ‘very business-like’ titles that lacked the spirit of adventure and freedom that’s such a part of caravanning.
“With our accessible design and cool features we really appeal to the young and young-at-heart caravanner, who wants to grasp life and try new things.”
Go Caravan offers a diverse mix of coverage including touring adventures and in-depth caravan tests.
The two main caravan clubs also offer a caravanning magazine to its caravan membership.
Caravan Club magazine
The Caravan Club Magazine is sent monthly to the Caravan Club’s members as part of their annual subscription package.
Editor Gary Martin has been doing the job since 2006. He says: “We are in the top 35 magazines circulated/distributed solely in the UK and Ireland. My aim is simply to make each issue as inspirational, informative and educational as possible with a blend of content that appeals to as wide an audience as possible.”
The Camping & Caravanning Club magazine
The magazine that goes to members of the Camping and Caravanning Club.
Simon McGrath has been editing Camping & Caravanning since April 2008. He says: “The publication is the world’s longest established and largest circulation monthly magazine for all types of camping.” It has seen circulation grow by eight per cent for two years running, in line with the growth in overall membership.
Simon continues: “Camping, in all its forms, is at the heart of the magazine together with a strong focus on activities and destinations to enjoy when touring the UK and abroad.”
