Motorhome Cover
Policies include: Annual multi-trip cover for vehicles up to 8m long,
3.5m high and 2.5m wide. Gross vehicle weight up to 4,250kg.
This product, available exclusively to our Motorhome Insurance customers as an optional extra, was previously voted Best Buy by Which Motorcaravan magazine.
It is an annual multi-trip cover providing all year round protection for your Motorhome in the UK, including doorstep cover, national recovery and onward transportation. In addition, you have the freedom to travel to Europe as and when you like with the complete peace of mind of being supported by Europe’s largest breakdown and recovery organisation, Europ Assistance.
We have negotiated discount rates, offering a choice of two levels of breakdown cover from just £70.00. You simply need to select what European level of cover suits your needs.
Standard Plus – 90 days single trip in Europe, with such trips not exceeding 270 days in total
Long Stay – 270 days single trip in Europe, with such trips not exceeding 365 days in total

Eligible vehicles
Motorised caravans or light vans of proprietary make converted to motor caravans in accordance with “Shield your Motorhome” self build requirements.
UK Cover
Doorstep cover (Shield's version of "home start") is included automatically. Recovery to home or intended destination when breakdown occurs over 1 mile from home. Roadside recovery of vehicle, driver and up to 7 passengers. Overnight accommodation (where necessary). 24 hour car hire for alternative transport. If your vehicle breaks down on the outward journey of a pre-booked UK camping/caravanning holiday and it cannot be repaired during the holiday we will transport the vehicle and passengers home at the end of the holiday.
Continental European Cover
Roadside recovery of vehicle and up to £250 roadside labour costs. Up to £175 to secure your vehicle following attempted theft. Repatriation to the UK for the driver and up to 7 passengers. Car hire cover up to maximum of £750. Overnight accommodation up to £125 per person up to a maximum of £750. Emergency chauffeur to destination if driver is incapacitated.
