The National Caravan Council has just published in their Annual Review of 2007 stating that Touring Caravan theft is now thought to be under 1,000 units per year down from 5,400 a few years ago. The introduction of CRiS (Caravan registration and identification system) can be attributed to this. In 2008 we will see RFID tags and readers introduced for 2008 models and the online web access for the trade and public will be phased in from 2008 all this should build on the success of 2007 in reducing theft.
