The Camping and Caravanning Club has supported an expedition in aid of Help for Heroes.

Static caravan insurance customers might be interested in donating to an expedition being undertaken by a group in aid of Help for Heroes, after the Camping and Caravanning Club showed its support for the campaign in its monthly magazine.

A group of 24 members of the British Services made up of the Navy, Army and RAF will explore remote areas of the Arctic Peninsula. The expedition will be led by Lt Col Paul Edwards of the Royal Logistic Corps.

The group is undertaking the trip to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Captain Robert Scott's expedition to the South Pole and the explorer's contribution to the country and to science.

Flight Lt Stu Quinn and the expedition's media officer said the trip is aimed at conducting examinations in remote locations to enhance the bound of human exploration and knowledge.

Editor of Camping & Caravanning Magazine Simon McGrath added: "The Club's core ethos of enjoying and exploring the outdoors goes back to the days of Captain Scott and even today he is remembered as a brave and iconic explorer."

The expedition aims to raise up to £10,000 for the Help for Heroes charity.
