CARAVANNERS URGED TO TAKE COVER - Press Release
Shield Total Insurance
The campaign encouraging caravanners to take out specific insurance cover for their tourer has a new champion. According to Shield Total Insurance, around 28% of all tourers in the UK are not covered by a specific insurance policy.
To help communicate the advantages of 'taking cover', Shield has launched a new logo, website and marketing campaign starring a likeable character that thrives because it is adequately protected by its own shield, an Armadillo.
Whilst there is no legal requirement to have a specific caravan insurance policy and car insurance cover can be extended to include towing a trailer on a third party basis, caravanners are leaving themselves exposed to substantial repair or replacement costs should the worst happen.
Shield Sales and Marketing Manager, Stuart Craig, explains, 'Both financially, and emotionally, caravans are a substantial investment. For some, the initial outlay of anything between five and twenty thousand pounds represents a lifetime's savings.
'Our new friend the Armadillo reminds us that it is important to be properly protected. Third party cover will not safeguard your investment if it is damaged or destroyed in an accident or fire, or if it is stolen,' he adds.
To make it as easy as possible to obtain access to adequate cover, Shield has refreshed its product offering providing an even wider range of customisable insurance solutions to suit all circumstances and budgets.
