Introducing the Sprite Alpine 2 Touring Caravan

The Sprite Alpine touring caravan has been around since 1958. In that time, thousands of Alpines have been sold worldwide. Sure the Sprite brand isn’t as strong as it once was, but that’s down to the brand disappearing from the UK market in the late 1990’s. To be honest, it hasn’t been marketed as well as it might have been. Sprite though has nearly 65 years under its belt, with the brand being a leader not just here in the UK but also in Europe too.

Sprite's styling is still looking good, though a revamp is possibly on the cards.

The Alpine, initially an export model, soon became a firm favorite in the UK. By the 1960’s it was a top seller and introduced many to the world of caravanning. However, the first 2 berth didn’t appear till 1969 and that was mainly a model ordered as a special. Made for export the Alpine 2 lasted just two years here in the UK. In 1983, the first Alpine 2 was back and since then the Alpine in two berth format has proved to be a popular layout.

At the end of 2006, the Alpine 2 returned as an end washroom lightweight model. The Alpine 2 has since sold well – a combination of its built quality and being well equipped, yet still light in weight.

In the past, it had competition from both Bailey and Avondale, plus Elddis with its Xplores. We checked out the latest Sprite Alpine 2, which still seems to carry on the tradition of value from Swift’s entry level, brand models.
