Lunar Quasar 494 caravan - the verdict
Lunar’s designers though have definitely come up trumps with the end washroom. Its entrance is via a sliding door. It’s amazing just how spacious the washroom has been made for such a compact family, end washroom, touring caravan.
End washroom is spacious and comes with large shower cubicle and electric flush loo.
The large side shower cubicle will be large enough for most users. The hand basin has been placed centrally, with a mirror above with LED lighting and a shelf. Storage is made available beneath the hand basin, while Lunar have added a dirty laundry storage locker. A Thetford electric flush loo is fitted, along with a window just above it. The roof vent provides plenty of ventilation and natural light for the 494’s washroom.
So this shortened end washroom layout looks like its practical and offers the small family car owner an end washroomed tourer which is so easy to tow and manoeuvre.
Front lounge offers seating for 4. Only a double bed can be made up using the slats though.
We towed the Lunar with our own Skoda Octavia VRS, which as you could predict blew the Quasar away. Such cars as the Skoda Yeti Green line we had on test a few weeks ago would have been a great match for the Lunar.
In summary - the compact end washroom family model has good spec, feels roomy and a great end washroom to boot.
It is going to be a popular buy for couples too who may just want to take the grand kids away now and again. A tourer that’s got much to commend it.
