The verdict on the Bailey Unicorn Barcelona

The Bailey Unicorn, in my book, at least goes some way to getting back the street cred lost in the other two ranges by some of the staunch Bailey fans (myself included). The Alu-Tech system doesn’t come cheap with its servicing costs and also we have already noted that Bailey Unicorns are being heavily discounted as they hit the forecourts in some areas - great for buyers. Then we have the other dilemma for would-be buyers – the Unicorn isn’t as cheap as other Baileys either. It’s got good kit and finish but Bailey has earned a reputation of giving more for less. This is where the opposition scores. Some buyers will opt for an Elddis Crusader or a Lunar Delta and now there is the new Swift Conqueror.

Heavy duty steadies are only fitted to the rear of the caravan.

It’s going to be a hard battle especially after the 4th of January when prices go up and it may make the Bailey Unicorn look a tad expensive. Still time will tell and at present the Unicorn is flying off the forecourts. Now Bailey has some hard work to do to improve Pegasus and Olympus, no doubt we will see some Unicorn cloning going on up to a point. I have made some criticisms and the profile and the lack of decent front locker storage is one that still holds. But Bailey watch out – because Swift have a cracking new product on the way. Vans will filter through and don’t expect super discounting, but this could have a slow down effect on the Bailey Unicorns.
