Bailey Unicorn Barcelona - the detail

There are also several soft furnishings options which all should go down well with the buyer; they feel modern without being over the top. The extending seat bases are still in use but surprisingly enough the slats are not beech. At this price bracket this shouldn’t be the case. The clip shut locker catches have been dropped for conventional ones - a better option in our book. When it comes to using the kitchen you won’t be disappointed, the new gloss finish worktop is in good supply and lighting is taken care of by four down lighters.

It’s here that storage too is in plentiful supply with great cupboard and locker storage. The cupboards have a Perspex oblique cover – all very smart plus a rather posh cocktail cabinet is fitted complete with lighting – it looks really good. Square sink/drainer is retained and rightly so. The oven pairs with a four-burner hob but dual fuel would have been good - maybe on the next generation Bailey Pegasus? Just one plug socket is fitted in the kitchen but Bailey has also come back with a clock fitted just by the socket. It would have been better to have this mounted somewhere for most users to see.

Real Clubman appeal in the Barcelona - check out the stylish cupboards.

Opposite the separate fridge/freezer has been fitted, most owners will find this very useful especially abroad. Also a useful cupboard above gives added storage. Next to the fridge is a dresser unit and because the Alde heating system has been employed the space saved has been given over to more storage. But Bailey has acted upon the high microwave position by lowering it and not only that they have fitted a better quality unit and also this has allowed extra storage above the microwave. It’s here on the small dresser that the supplied TV will sit – personally I would rather see the TV taken out thus lowering the Bailey Unicorn’s price by a few bob.

Step through to the rear of the Unicorn and the fixed double bed is placed on the nearside. Its base is angled as you walk through – it means you don’t stub your toe every time if you’re clumsy like me! The double is comfortable and has roof lockers placed above it with a corner shelf. Only one shelf by the bed is fitted while lighting at night is taken care of by two spots. Opposite the bed are sidewall shelves plus the wardrobe. The wardrobe is full length but size wise it’s not over generous with limited hanging space.

Bailey has kept up their tradition and surpassed it too with the end washroom - it’s so spacious and well designed. We like the Belfast sink and the storage beneath. The shower cubicle is generous while Bailey has brought back the laundry basket plus the heated towel holder. It’s typical Bailey and it has pulled it off well, even the letterbox window has now at least been made bigger in the washroom thus letting in more natural light. Lighting includes spots and a main ceiling light, so it’s nice and bright for night use.
