Gobur Folding Caravan Living Space Review

Setting up the Clubman couldn’t be simpler, everything folds back up and then the bits that were dismantled inside are then simply put back into place. So here you have the best use of space-a square box, which offers the touring couple an excellent living area. This is where the Clubman delivers. As you step inside the erected caravan then you will be simply amazed at just how spacious this caravan really is. It definitely feels far wider than the actual width suggests - more like 7ft 6in in fact - the living area feels so open with plenty of walk way through the kitchen area.

The layout comprises a front end kitchen - once a common idea in standard UK caravans, side corner front washroom, central wardrobe with dresser opposite and rear end double dinette. Above the rear end dinette you have good roof locker storage and some handy shelf space plus a clock. Spot lights are located under the lockers while the heating is by a 240v unit placed in the dinette area. However an optional gas blown air unit is available too. The dinette area has under locker storage available while flyscreens and blinds are fitted all-round. Seating is of a good quality and a relatively modern pattern and colour.

Wow! The interior of the Carousel produces masses of space.

The side wardrobe isn’t very large but more storage in the way of lockers is present along with a low side cupboard and shelf above. This should prove ideal for a couple. For those wanting more kitchen work top, the side dresser opposite has more storage and cupboard space plus the extra useful worktop too. The electrics control panel is fitted here and just inside the entrance door, a low level spot lamp lights the way for night-time use.

The side dresser also has some handy shelves fitted, so all the available space in the Carousel is utilised to the full. When you use the front end kitchen you are reminded that it’s limited on worktop, however the storage beneath is excellent with good-sized cupboards plus a small side shelf fitted on the nearside. An oven isn’t fitted as standard - again it would be good to have this or a microwave at least.

When it comes to using the shower you may be surprised at just how large it is considering the Clubman’s 2.08m width. But Gobur has managed to add an electric flush loo plus a tip–up wash basin, which means the space in the washroom including a vanity unit, is surprisingly good for such a folding caravan. If you want the hot water/shower it is on the option’s list too. We would have liked to have seen this as standard considering the Clubman status and price.
