Check what’s on offer from manufacturers. We say go to one of the excellent shows to meet the manufacturer and also park owners who may have spare plots in an area where you are looking at. Check the web and look at manufacturer’s sites, then locate a dealer or park where the model you are interested in may be on display for you to have a look at. Do also keep within your budget – it’s so easy to get carried away and end up spending more than you can comfortably afford (no point having a holiday worrying about the costs!).
Although holiday home dealerships aren’t as prolific as some tourer dealers, there are some excellent set ups where dedicated sales staff can point you in the right direction in choosing the unit of your dreams. Don’t forget you will be looking at the home with a longer term view to ownership than say a car. It has to be right; will just the family use it? Or will friends be invited for the occasional weekend? You can also find the park you like and check what’s available there too. Many park owners have a separate display area for new homes and they also know what pitches that unit will fit on to. Finance is another area where dealers can help with competitive terms.
