Caravan insurance customers may be encouraged to review their security measures following the theft of a vehicle in Cambridgeshire.
Police have revealed that a six-berth caravan worth more than £10,000 was stolen in the village of Whittlesey near Peterborough on Sunday night (May 30th), the Cambs Times reports.
Community safety manager Trevor Bracken said four caravans in the area have now fallen victim to thieves over the last four months.
He claimed traditional security devices may no longer offer sufficient protection for caravan owners, with criminals becoming increasingly sophisticated.
"This is an indication that caravan owners need to rethink their security," Mr Bracken told the newspaper.
"They should consider installing tracking equipment which helps police trace their caravan if it is stolen."
Anti-theft roof marking kits are also recommended for caravan users looking to improve their security measures.
In addition, the Camping and Caravanning Club provides a data sheet featuring a range of security tips and advice for members.
