Touring caravan insurance customers planning to purchase a new vehicle this year may be interested to learn that the Toyota Verso has been awarded a five-star safety rating by Euro NCAP.
The car achieved a score of 89 per cent for adult occupancy, 75 per cent for child safety and 69 per cent for pedestrian impact.
According to Toyota, this year's Euro NCAP test is more demanding than that of previous years, with standards set to become even more stringent in the future.
"Vehicles now need to achieve excellent results in all four categories to merit a five-star rating," the manufacturer noted.
The Toyota iQ, Avensis and Prius all achieved the maximum rating in tests carried out last year.
Vehicles that received four stars in the latest round of NCAP testing include the Seat Exeo saloon, which did particularly well in the categories relating to child and pedestrian protection, the Kia Venga and the Nissan Cube.
